I have a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy, which means that I am at my helping best with clients who are willing to express themselves through drawing, paint, clay, and collage.
I am also a Registered Psychotherapist and provide ‘traditional’ talk therapy services employing strategies such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), psychodynamic psychotherapy, and Jungian perspectives. I am also “registered” with the American Art Therapy Credentials Board, Inc. and a “professional” member of the Canadian Art Therapy Association.
Art Therapy is a form of counselling that works well for all ages, however my practice focuses on adults who have trauma issues, struggle with controlling their use of drugs or alcohol, those who are depressed or anxious, and those who are confused about the direction their life is taking and what decisions to make. I tell people that they don’t need to think that they’re artistic or creative, just willing to try…even if it’s ‘stick people.’ |
